SPA FRANCORCHAMPS

A few months ago we went for a drive through the Ardennes. As we were in the area Mo thought it might be interesting to go and see the Belgian Grand Prix circuit (she is obsessed with F1). Belgian signposting is far from the best in the world so we drove round and round the countryside (very pretty) until, suddenly, I turned to Mo and said, "F*@k me, we're ON the circuit". And sure enough, there we were driving on one of the world's few road racing circuits: round Blanchimont, through the Chicane and about to take the hairpin at La Source. It wasn't until we had driven round and round a few times (we are sad), desperately trying to do justice to our racing heroes by thrashing Mo's 1600cc Toyota, that we realised we were not alone. A number of other cars (mostly carrying German plates) were also accelerating once they hit the circuit and then running the same bits again and again. Comforting not to be alone in your sadness.

and zooming in ...

This is a map of the circuit if you're really interested.
