Desk and Internet research and reporting
The growth in the availability of information over the Internet
and in the use of e-mail means you (and I) don't need to be surrounded
by piles of out-of-date publications or sitting in a library to do
quality research and policy analysis.
If you need, for example:
- a survey of current practice in an area of service provision
- analysis of developing policy
- evidence of need or performance to present to your funders
- to collect and synthesise the views of your stakeholders, perhaps
for government consultations
... it can all be done using modern information and communication
methods. These can include:
- world wide web search and download
- e-mail
- web-based forms
- telephone surveys
